REPORT
WHITE
ROCK |
TECHNIQUE:
Axial
10 mm sections were obtained through the throax both pre and
post intravenous administration of 100 cc Omnipaque
300. The patient was premedicated with prednisone, benadryl
and Zantac due to history of contrast allergy. This study was
compared to the prior examination dated 12/30/99.
|
FINDINGS:
There continues to be extensive
consolidation involving the right lung, with a loculated lateral and anterior
pleural effusion, unchanged since the prior study. The previously
described right upper lobe mass has increased significantly in size and now
measures approximately 25 mm in diameter and has irregular
borders. There is poor central contrast enhancement. No osteolytic
lesions are indentified. A couple of small lymph nodes are present
in the periaortic fat of the anterior mediastinum. The irregular
contrast opacification of the superior vena cava was previously felt to
represent an element of thrombus. This finding may also be
secondary to blood flow. The left lung remains clear. The
left ventricle appears mildly prominent and is unchanged in size since the
prior study. No subcutaneous soft tissue masses are
indentified.
|

consolidation of the right lung with loculated right pleural
effusion. 2. The previously
